Up close and personal to Stonehenge

Things to see

There's lots to do and see in and around Amesbury, including Stonehenge, Old Sarum, Woodhenge, Avebury and much more...

Market town

A hidden gem, Amesbury is well known for its beautiful Norman church, a pub linked to Charles Dickens, its pretty eighteenth and nineteenth century buildings, a good selection of shops and cafes and a small Wednesday market.

Tourist attractions

Its proximity to Stonehenge, Salisbury Plain, the City of Salisbury, Avebury, Devizes, Old Sarum, Malborough and Wilton, along with its position at the head of the peaceful Woodford Valley on the River Avon, the A303 and A345, make the town a popular stop-off for tourists, travelers and fishermen.
